Overview
The Transmission LA: AV Club was a 17-day international film festival curated by Mike D of the Beastie Boys and held at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. This immersive, multi-sensory event seamlessly blended exhibitions, live concerts, and installations to create a unique cultural experience. The project's primary goal was to develop a dynamic and sophisticated visual identity and promotional campaign that would capture the festival's avant-garde spirit and engage a global community of artists and creatives. The challenge was to create a cohesive brand that could represent the diverse range of creative mediums showcased.
Contributions
My contributions to the AV Club project were rooted in providing creative and strategic direction for the festival's visual identity. I led the development of the core brand, including the logo and visual systems, ensuring they were adaptable across all digital and print assets. I provided art direction for the promotional materials, including posters and digital campaigns, to build a cohesive and engaging narrative for the event. My role was to unify the creative vision, from initial concept to the final execution, ensuring the brand identity successfully communicated the festival's unique, collaborative ethos and ultimately played a vital part in its success. Notable participants included Benjamin Jones, Mike Mills, Tom Sachs, Lauren Mackler (Public Fiction), Sage Vaughn, Isaac (Still House Group), Peter Coffin, Roy Choi, and Will Fowler.
